Siv Remøy-Vangen joins Grieg Maritime Board

The General Assembly of Grieg Maritime Group has appointed Siv Remøy-Vangen to our Board of Directors, reinforcing our commitment to sustainable innovation within the maritime industry.

Siv Remøy-Vangen will join the Board of Directors for the first time in May, following her appointment on April 1.

“We are thrilled to welcome Siv as a part of our Board. I know her to be an energetic and highly competent leader who has dedicated many years to improving the maritime industry. Her passion for this field is evident, and she genuinely cares about improving the maritime sector, well aligned with our mission of creating sustainable maritime solutions for the future,” says Camilla Grieg, Chair of the Board of GMG.

Remøy-Vangen currently serves as Managing Director at Norwegian Electric Systems (NES), a leading provider of low- and zero-emission propulsion and control systems. Prior to her role at NES, she was the CEO of Maritime Bergen, an industry association representing ocean-based companies. In recognition of her leadership and contributions to the maritime sector, Remøy-Vangen was honoured with WISTA Norway’s LeaderShip Award in 2021.

“Being given the opportunity to join the board of Grieg Maritime Group is an exciting responsibility and mission. With a history dating back to 1884, the company represents strong maritime traditions, while now facing important crossroads. New vessels and new technology are being introduced into operations, and the direction taken will shape the company going forward. As someone from Sunnmøre, where family-owned businesses and proud traditions run deep, I know how important it is to manage that legacy with respect—and with an eye to the future. I look forward to working closely with Chair Camilla Grieg, the rest of the board, and the management team,” says Sive Remøy-Vangen.

With Siv Remøy-Vangen joining the Board, Elisabeth Grieg is stepping down from her position at the Board after close to 25 years of service.

“Serving on the Board of Grieg Maritime Group has been an incredible journey. I am immensely proud of what we have accomplished together over the past 25 years. While I am stepping down from the board, I will remain an active owner and stay deeply committed to the company’s vision and future. I look forward to continuing my engagement in the maritime industry and furthering my work with NGOs focused on sustainability. The pursuit of sustainable solutions in shipping is more crucial than ever, and I am excited to contribute to initiatives that drive positive environmental change,” says Elisabeth Grieg.
