Grieg Group is proud supporters of Active against cancer. This weekend the foundation celebrates Grete Waitz’ 40 year old record at New York City Marathon, and we encourage everyone to join their virtual event together with athlete Karsten Warholm.
Since 2008, Grieg Group has been proud collaborative partners with Active against cancer. Their work for physical activity and research are important in order to both gain knowledge about cancer, and offer meaningful activity for cancer patients.
The foundation was established by Helle Aanesen and athlete Grete Waitz in 2007. Their goal is to bring physical activity as part of cancer treatment in Norway.
– For us it is important to support foundations and people doing good for others and society. We strongly believe in the positive effects of physical activity and are really happy to support a foundation that promotes physical activity as part of cancer re-convalescence. We find Active against cancer’s important work very inspiring, and are looking forward to join them in the virtual event together with athlete Karsten Warholm this weekend, says Camilla Grieg, one of the initiators within the Grieg Group.
This weekend the foundation celebrates former athlete Grete Waitz’ 40 year old record in New York City Marathon. She finished at the time 2.25.41. With this in mind, the foundation is inviting everyone to celebrate the record with them and Karsten Warholm, encouraging to stay active for 2 hours and 25 minutes during the weekend of 31 of October – 1 November.
New York City Marathon was suppose to be arranged for the 50th time this year, but due to Covid-19 the event has been cancelled. Instead you can participate in a virtual event together with Active against cancer. Find more information here.
